Old business

I. Brenda and Brent discussed the dues. They have determined that dues for our club is as follows:

Single person-60$ a year
Couple- 95$ per year
January 1st the next round of dues need to be payed
Brenda and Brent proposed that we pay dues at the June and September monthly meetings.
Trish moved; Sherrie seconded

II. We have decided to hold a Sweetheart Ball. We’re aiming for the date of Friday February 15. We are going to team with Coats for Kids for this event. Brent asked Sue Hauglid to chair the Sweetheart Ball and she accepted. Sue made a list of guidelines and list of committees. The list was passed around to let people sign up for committees. Sue stated that the plan is to begin full planning mode as soon as Christmas is over. If you were not at the meeting and would like to help out in any way, please email Sue at mhaugs@hotmail.com.
Doug spoke with Charley Johnson with KVLY Coats for Kids and he was on board with us to start an advertising plan for this event a month in advance.

III. Doug has set us up to help out with the Salvation Army Bellringing on Saturday December 22. Brent will send out another email with the times available.
IV. District Winter Meetings will be held at Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen January 25-26-27. This is a GREAT opportunity for us to learn more about Lions and to socialize with other Lions. The 25th will be more of a mixer and poker tournament. The 26th there will be morning sessions and a business meeting after lunch. Mike Griffin pointed out that there will be two candidates for International Director present. The 27th will be a church service. New Business

I. As we move into the new year, we have the unfortunate task of dropping inactive members from our roster. In addition, we are always looking to add new members. We have unique opportunity to have a Concordia Student to join us. Katie McGuire (sp?) will join us. She was involved with a Leo club in high school and is very eager to join up with us. Questions about adding/dropping members please contact Brent.
II. We are also looking into possibly moving the location of our monthly meetings or for sure staying at the Fryn Pan. The obvious pros of staying at the Fryn Pan is that we can order supper while we have our meeting. However, most felt that this was not such a pertinent issue. Darla mentioned that the Moorhead Public Library has free meeting rooms available in the downstairs of the library. Darla was subsequently put in charge of this committee. III. Sue brought to our attention an Adopt a Grandparent program she came across. Just an idea for possible programs we may want to become involved with in the coming year.
