Old Business:

Unfortunately, we have run into some competition with our proposed Sweetheart Ball. We are going to drop the sweetheart ball and look for new ideas. Ideas proposed include Mid-Winter Blues Dance, Spring Fling, and a Luai. We are looking to have it around the date of February 23 but will consider moving it to a later time if possible.

Darla is looking into possible locations for holding our monthly meeting. The Moorhead Public Library has a free meeting room available for us to use the second Tuesday of each month. The drawback of this is of course that we do not have the option of ordering food and would have to bring our own. There were no strong opinions either way regarding this issue. If you have ideas about this please contact Darla at 701-367-4901.

Mid-Winter Convention is coming up January 25-26-27 in Mahnomen at Shooting Star Casino. 99$ includes five meals and seminars. There will be a first timers program which presents an excellent opportunity to meet with other Lions. Please try to attend if you can.

There was no new business.

Meeting Closed.

Presentation

Russ McDougal, Kim Peters, and Gordy Nichols were our presenters for the evening. They spoke about the history of Lions and a brief rundown of the hierarchies beginning with the Lions International President through the districts and local clubs. They also spoke about the various programs Lions has to offer including, SightFirst and Lions Quest. The Lions website www.lionsclubs.org also has a wealth of information available about Lions programs and history of Lions.

Our next meeting will be February 12 @ 5:30 pm at the Fryn Pan in Moorhead. See you there!
